So you want to try your hand at a sleeker hairstyle, but you haven’t you taken the plunge. A modern take on this classic look doesn’t have to take half an hour to achieve. Just ask Sixers guard Nik Stauskas, whose Redken-glossed hair tends to always look perfect—even after a big game. He claims the look only takes him 30 seconds and lasts all day long. The only tough part? Figuring out which product works best for your hair.

Take look at Stauskas’s hair styling routine, and see if you can get it done in under 30 seconds…

Nik Stauskas’s hair styling tips:

  1. Shower using shampoo and conditioner.
  2. Initially I dry my hair with a towel, but I leave it a little bit damp so I can let it air dry for a few minutes before applying product. It’s taken a lot of trial and error to find the best way to get it to dry correctly, but I found that this way gives my hair good texture and the perfect amount of moisture before I put product in.
  3. Rub product in my hands and apply evenly throughout my hair.
  4. Once I’ve put enough product in, I start combing my hair over from right to left, starting at the front and making my way to the back. Once I have my hair completely combed over, I then take the comb through the front of my hair and flip it up. I like to blend in the flip at the front with the comb over throughout the rest of my hair. It normally only takes 30 seconds or so to get it correctly.
  5. Go on with my day and make sure no one touches it!
