We’ll be the first to admit, masking is usually a hallmark of someone who’s pretty into caring for their skin. But throwing on a mask—crazy as you might look/feel while you’re wearing it—is the easiest way to achieve a big difference in the state of your skin in mere minutes. Whether you have oily skin, acne issues, or areas of redness, there are face masks for men out there that are way easier to use than you might think.

If you don’t know where to begin, you’ve come to the right place. For starters, masks go on after you wash your face. Depending on the mask, you either wash off or leave on, and then slap on some moisturizer. We’ve rounded up our five favorite face masks for men that address the most common skin issues to help get you started.

Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Mask ($58)

Skin Type: All

Main Uses: Purifying, Pore Decongestant, Refining

In layman’s terms, this mask will clear all the nasty stuff out of your skin real quick. It gets deep down into your pores, removing dirt buildup and blackheads, giving you an extra clean feeling. We love the way our skin feels after each use — refined, smooth and super clear. After ten minutes with the mask on, rinse off using a washcloth. Use one or two times per week.

Enlite Super Face Liquid Assets ($19.99)

Skin Type: Aging

Main Uses: Fine lines, exfoliation, complexion

This mask wins the category of coolest face masks for men. For starters, this mask applies as a metallic silver liquid that hardens as it dries. To remove, peel the silver layer off your skin — no water required. We recommend applying a thick, smooth layer over your face and peeling off after 20 to 30 minutes, starting at the outer edges when removing. Aside from how cool this mask looks (Tin Man status), it’s actually super powerful, using colloidal platinum as a main ingredient. Pretty cool, right? Our faces feel like you removed a layer of dead skin cells, leaving fresh, smooth skin. You won’t notice younger skin right away BUT the next day you’ll notice that your skin looks revived and healthy. We like to use this mask once a week.

Knesko Nanogold Repair Face Mask ($150 for four)

Skin Type: Dry

Main Uses: Hydrating

Dry skin, meet your match. This super hydrating sheet mask is a trip to use, especially if you’ve never used one. When you open the package, you’ll find a gel-ish, gold, Jason-esque mask marinating in gooey serum that’s going to saturate your face in a ton of key ingredients including nanogold (#ballin). This mask leaves our skin feeling mad hydrated, firm and refreshed.

Sukin Oil Balancing Anti-Pollution Face Mask ($15.95)

Skin Type: Oily

Main Uses: Oil balancing, detoxifying

No one likes oily skin, and this mask is reserved for those special times when our skin is bugging out. Now, don’t think you should use this mask all of the time to try and combat your oil production—it’s meant to help balance things, but overuse will lead to dry, irritated skin. As the mask dries on your face and the charcoal in the formula gets activated, you can actually see the oil and impurities being pulled out of your skin. This is a great face mask for men looking to take control of their skin.

Pierre’S Brightening and Hydrating Facial Mask ($17.00)

Skin Type: All

Main Uses: Brightening

We like to use this mask when our skin is feeling dull and lifeless, especially after hitting the town a little too hard. Manuka honey and greek yogurt are the main ingredients in this mask that nourish, clean and illuminate your skin. Why should you care about brightening your skin? It’s the one thing that’ll keep you looking young and fresh. We can definitely see a difference in our complexion after rinsing this off. We like to use this mask one to two times per week.
